My 1yr old son had an appointment with Orthopedics, C4, at CHEO (Ottawa) this morning, and while his appointment was for 10:45am, he was not seen before 12:40pm. That is a 2hr wait! Not only is this absurd, but very disrespectful to patients’ time, and hard for 1yr olds especially to wait that long. I had planned out the amount of food (bottles) and diapers I needed, and had run out of these before he was seen. I feel that my time and patience was abused, and that the hospital needs to find a more accurate way of scheduling patients. Perhaps fewer patients should be seen per day, for example, so that sufficient time is given to each patient, rather than making everyone wait so that all the kids are crammed in!
