I would like to start off by saying that my complaint isn’t about the care my mother recieved in emerg or in ICU. Doctor’s and nurses that cared for her were wonderful and very geniune with me and my family. What I do want to complain about is the waiting area for ICU patients. When my mother was admitted into the ICU we were unsure if she would pull through. In saying this we have a large family and naturally given the circumstances everyone wanted to be there to give eachother support. The first night we were allowed to stay in a room near the ICU. The next day we had to leave where were because this was the waiting area for day patients. We then were left to stay out in the hall with another large family who was in the same situation as us not knowing if our loved one was going to make it. We then found another area which we went in , but shortly after we were told again that this was the waiting room for day patients. We didnot have anywhere to go. My family and I did not appreciate that there was really no area for us to go to, to cry and take in the things that the doctor was saying to us and having a quiet place for us to think about the next steps we needed to take in the care of our mother. Thankfully we didn;t need to go there. I;m writing to you because I do not want another family to go throught this.

YOU NEED TO HAVE A BETTER AREA FOR FAMILY MEMBERS WITH PATIENTS IN ICU TO ALLOW THEN THE PRIVACY TO TAKE IN THE THINGS THAT ARE HAPPENING.

I HOPE WHOEVER READS THIS CAN AND WILL TRY TO IMPROVE THIS BIG PROBLEM.

THANK YOU FOR ALLOWING ME TO HAVE MY SAY.
